In addition to the monetary investment and profit that its exploitation or sale can bring you, a country house gives great flexibility to satisfy future needs.
For example, when you get a pension and/or the children grow up, you can turn the country house into a new permanent residence.
You can also bequeath it to your children or other loved ones and they can turn it into a permanent residence.
For the younger and professionally active, a cottage can also function as a temporary place of work. The pandemic has shown that in most professions teleworking can now be applied without any loss in productivity.
Digital conveniences have made this quite sustainable (eg high-speed Internet networks). Who knows, you may change professions in the near future and want to work remotely from your holiday home for many months of the year.
In any case, before you decide on the investment, keep in mind that a property also has costs. In addition to the cost of financing and acquiring it, there are maintenance costs as well as taxes. Also consider these factors before you reach a decision.
